AOPA Video Spotlights Chorman Spraying and Air Tractor Aircraft

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) recently released a video profiling Chorman Spraying, LLC, a multi-generational aerial application company based in Greenwood, Delaware. The video offers an inside look at the operation’s work across multiple states, where it provides crop protection, cover crop seeding, and mosquito control services using both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
With over 50 years in business and continuous operations dating back to 1946, Chorman Spraying is led by Jeff Chorman, a commercial applicator since the age of 18. Today, the company operates from 15 airfields and runs a diverse fleet that includes three Air Tractor aircraft—two AT-802As and one AT-602.
The video emphasizes the scope and precision of aerial application work, showcasing how professional pilots and specialized aircraft contribute to the production of food, fuel and fiber for American and a growing world population. Air Tractor aircraft are featured throughout, underscoring their role in handling high-volume application efficiently and reliably.
By documenting the real-world application of aerial spraying, AOPA’s video helps raise awareness of the agricultural aviation industry and the importance of aerial applicators like Chorman Spraying. It also reinforces the value of Air Tractor aircraft as essential tools in modern agriculture and shows how ag pilots can begin their careers.
