About Portage Aircraft Specialties, LTD.

Portage Aircraft Specialties provides Canadian aerial application operators with a successful 40-year legacy in agricultural aviation and aircraft support services from its aircraft sales and maintenance facilities located in south central Manitoba.

President Dave Frisch grew up on a mixed grain and livestock farm in the Manitou, MB area and began his ag flying career in 1999. Having flown and helped build a successful aerial application operation and turbine aircraft maintenance shop, Dave has both the technical, practical, and business experience to help Air Tractor owners maximize their aircraft investment.

Portage Aircraft Maintenance opened its doors in 2004 to answer the need for a maintenance facility specializing in the growing number of turbine Air Tractor aircraft entering Canada. From the 8,400 square foot, state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility, experienced aircraft maintenance engineers provide a wide array of services to ag aviators.

These services include aircraft setup, airframe repair, avionics, compressor washes, 100- and 300-hr. inspections, hot sections, borescope inspection, engine installation, propeller balancing, a/c servicing, ELT, pitot static testing, and altimeter recertifications.

Portage Aircraft Specialties AMEs are also recognized NAAA Operation S.A.F.E. Analysts. They have received training from Dr. Dennis Gardissier to provide aircraft spray pattern characterization testing.

With its large, in-country inventory of genuine Air Tractor parts, Portage Aircraft Specialties can quickly respond to parts orders and get pilots flying and earning again with the least amount of downtime.

Portage Aircraft Specialties maintains its own private 3,100 ft. asphalt airstrip located 12 km east of Portage la Prairie.
