The use of the Air Tractor AT-802 as a primary fuel transport for the Krayan region signals a critical operational shift in Indonesia’s remote logistics. Following a disruption in standard cargo services, Pertamina Patra Niaga successfully deployed the AT-802 to restore the “One Price Fuel” program in North Kalimantan. This deployment leverages the aircraft’s specialized capability to access short, unimproved border strips that ground transport and larger airframes cannot navigate.

The transition to Air Tractor assets for energy distribution delivers a level of mission reliability that standard utility aircraft often lack in 3T (frontier) regions. By utilizing a platform designed for high-cycle durability and significant payloads, Pertamina ensures that fuel supplies to SPBU stations remain stable despite extreme geographical barriers. This approach prioritizes operational practicality over the complex bureaucracy of traditional heavy-lift procurement.

Strategically, this move reinforces the role of the AT-802 as a versatile infrastructure tool beyond the agricultural sector. The synergy between Pertamina and Patra Logistik demonstrates how purpose-built aviation can bridge the gap in national energy equity. As Area Manager Edi Mangun confirmed, the supply to Krayan is now “back on track,” signaling a sustainable model for borderland energy security.
